Gov. Chris Christie says the PATH trains connecting New York City with northern New Jersey will be out of service at least seven to 10 days.

Stations in Jersey City and Hoboken were flooded by the storm surge from Sandy.

Christie says commuters from those areas will likely rely more heavily on ferries, as they did when the train system was shut down by the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001.

NJ Transit, Amtrak and SEPTA all suspended service on Tuesday.
