"Lot of buzz about the Mets being a playoff team," Scott said.

"Listen, I'm hopeful we're an over .500 team this year, and then we'll worry about the playoffs after that," Christie replied.

The governor recently made the trip down to Mets spring training in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Scott turned the attention to the player that Mets fans are pinning the team's 2015 hopes on, Matt Harvey, who missed all of last season following Tommy John surgery.

"I love Matt Harvey, the Dark Knight of Gotham," Christie said. "His ERA in Spring Training is 1.26."

"Get ready baby. Matt Harvey is back."

"You going to be there for opening day?" Scott asked.

Christie said he plans to attend the game on Monday, April 13, against the Phillies.

"Mary Pat and I will be there. Maybe one of the college kids from Princeton might able to skip up there and take a look at a game."
