Christie ‘Nervous’ When Scandal Linked to Aides
Newly released notes from interviews with Gov. Chris Christie by his lawyers show the governor was "nervous" about finding out who else on his staff might have been involved in a politically motivated traffic jam scandal.
The notes show Christie pulled together key members of his government and political teams after emails showed that aides had blocked traffic approaching the George Washington Bridge to get back at a local mayor.
Christie's top political strategists, chief counsel and brother were among those called to the governor's mansion to find out who else was involved. The scandal has been a major distraction for the possible 2016 presidential candidate.
The lawyers' notes from 75 interviews were released Monday. A legislative panel investigating the lane closings had demanded them.
