The Republican governor has four children ranging from 10 to 20 years old. He often talks about them in public.

Christie has said that having dinner with all of them has given him experience in being yelled at. He has boasted about being a rare family without video games.

Christie attracted scrutiny in 2011 when he used a state police helicopter to fly to his son Andrew's baseball game. He repaid the cost.

The other recipient named for this year so far is shoe designer Vince Camuto. Most of the honorees over the years have been famous.

This list includes former New Jersey governors Tom Kean and Brendan Byrne.
