While Christie recently blamed President Obama for some of the Middle East turmoil, he has been vague about issues, such as foreign policy, immigration, and the Hobby Lobby decision.

Repeatedly, he has deflected questions about these topics, or even been silent.

The strategy is seen by many as a way to weigh out how to position himself through a very crowded primary field, if he does decide to run for president in 2016.
