It looks like Gov. Chris Christie will make the cut for the next GOP debate, scheduled for Sept. 16 on CNN.

Christie was in danger of falling out of the top 10, and in many polls he has, but a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows he would have the ninth position on the main state.

Carly Fiorina has been moving up in the polls since her praised performance on Fox's televised debate on Aug. 6. Her surge, however, hasn't been enough to bump Christie and other poorly performing Republicans from the main debate. The poll puts her in seventh place.

The top polling candidates remain Donald Trump, Dr. Ben Carson, Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz.
