Christie helped launch the $6.7 million renovation of Essex County College's Martin Luther King Jr. Library on Wednesday. The library is being transformed to increase digital access and improve academic resources for students.

The college in Newark has received more than $19 million from a bond act approved by voters in 2012.

The governor had visited William Paterson University in Wayne on Tuesday for the groundbreaking of a new academic building also funded by the bond act.

Christie has been touring schools that are using the money to help fund projects. He said the investments will help ease overcrowding and improve access and the quality of education at schools across the state.
