On New Jersey's 101.5 FM's Ask the Governor program Monday night, Christie criticized Obama's appearance at a drug rehab in Newark and visit to Rutgers' law school in the city..

He said the president only showed up in the Garden State because it's achieved measures that he's failed to achieve on a national level.

Obama, at his appearances, argued the nation must ensure those regaining their freedom get a second chance instead motivation to commit more crimes and return to prison.

"He's had seven years as president and he hasn't done anything on the issue," Christie said. "We've had bail reform in New Jersey. We've had 'ban the box' (a measure to keep employers from asking about criminal histories) in New Jersey. We've had expansion of drug court in New Jersey. We've had one-stop prisoner reentry in New Jersey."

Obama did not mention the governor during his visit. Christie said he received "late notification" about the president's visit to New Jersey.
