Christie and Romney reunite
During the 2012 presidential campaign, Gov. Chris Christie was one of Mitt Romney's most ardent supporters, and now the former Republican presidenti plans to give Christie a boost.
While Romney is not officially endorsing Christie for his yet-to-be announced 2016 presidential run, he has included the governor in a major upcoming donor event.
The fundraiser will take place on Oct. 6 at the home of Jets owner, Woody Johnson. The guest list includes Gov. John Kasich (R-OH), U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), and U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL).
All three are considered 2016 Republican hopefuls and potential Christie opponents in a primary field.
The event allows Christie to get face-time with big money GOP donors.
He and Romney will spend time together, before the Woody Johnson gala, on Sept. 10, at a fundraiser for the New Jersey Republican party in East Brunswick.
