Christie Amtrak incident greatly misreported

Reports of Gov. Chris Christie getting kicked off an Amtrak quiet car on Sunday were greatly exaggerated.

Initial reports were tweeted by someone who was clearly not a Christie fan and who managed to get a few seconds of fame on Gawker, a quasi-news website.

But it illustrates how great an impact social media has in the presidential campaign.

Whether the story was accurate or not, and it wasn't even close to accurate, it was immediately picked up and shared by thousands, including some legitimate news sources.
