Law Firm to Aid Christie Administration Bridgegate Review
Gov. Chris Christie's administration has hired a law firm to assist with its response to ongoing Bridgegate investigations and review any internal office practices which may have played a part in the political payback scandal.
Former federal prosecutor Randy Mastro will lead the team from the Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
Mastro was an assistant U.S. attorney who specialized in organized crime cases. He also once was a New York deputy mayor.
The firm will review best practices for office operations and assist with ongoing investigations.
On Wednesday, state lawmakers tapped the former federal prosecutor who won the corruption conviction of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to advise them on their investigation.
They are looking into a plot that shut down lanes to the George Washington Bridge for four days in September, causing massive traffic jams. The plot apparently was hatched as a political vendetta.
