Chris Christie Vetoes Quick Wedding Bill
Couples will have to wait before rushing down the aisle when it comes to getting married in New Jersey.
Gov. Chris Christie has vetoed a bill that would have eliminated the three-day waiting period for marriage licenses.
Christie says entering into a marriage or civil union requires careful deliberation and thoughtful consideration.
The bill's sponsors thought it would have given Atlantic City a boost as a wedding destination similar to Las Vegas.
Christie says the bill would only facilitate "hasty marriages."
