At a town hall in Somerset, Christie reiterated that he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman, but would support putting the question on the ballot in November for voters to decide.

"I believe this is the fairest way to get a good representation of our state and who wants this and who doesn't" Christie said.

32 other states have put gay marriage on the ballot. The state legislature has until July 7th to put the issue to a vote in time for this November's general election.
