This story is from Canada, but it caught my attention. The article mentions twice that the worker lost “some” fingers in the meat chopping accident. I would think the number of fingers chopped off would be of great interest to the worker.

He apparently was trying to clear some clogged meat out of the chopper with a hook and got pulled into the blade. A fail safe that should have prevented the gore didn’t work properly, leading to the missing digits. My own grandmother was the victim of a similar workplace accident; she was feeding yarn into an industrial loom when it pulled her hand in, chopping off her index finger. Her middle finger slowly migrated over the years to take a position that made it look like she still had an index finger, but it didn’t seem to affect her much; she was an avid knitter and crocheter until the day she died.
