Cespedes, Mets complete $75M, 3-year deal with opt out

Yoenis Cespedes and the New York Mets have completed their $75 million, three-year contract, which gives the slugging outfielder a chance to terminate the deal after one season.

The Mets announced the move Tuesday night, four days after the sides agreed to terms -- pending a physical.

Cespedes gets a $10 million signing bonus and a $17.5 million salary this year.

He receives a full no-trade provision and the opportunity to become a free agent again after the 2016 season.

Cespedes helped power New York to the NL pennant last year after he was acquired from Detroit minutes before the July 31 trade deadline.

He had 17 home runs and 44 RBIs in 57 games with the Mets, winning over fans and teammates almost immediately.

In a statement, Cespedes says he loved his experience in New York last season and he felt embraced by the entire organization.
