Centennial Celebration of Woodland Park [SPONSORED]
A Family Fun Picnic will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Woodland Park, Saturday, May 17, from 1 to 10 p.m. The celebration will include a parade, picnic, games and a fireworks display.
Fairway Market will be an integral part of the celebration Saturday, as they will supply the food for the picnic, which will take place at Memorial Field behind Memorial Middle School.
“We are very excited to host this once in a life time celebration of our community,” said Keith Kazmark, Mayor of Woodland Park. “The 100th Anniversary parade and picnic will fully show the pride in our borough and none of this would have been possible without the help and support of our lead sponsor, Fairway Market.”
The borough, formerly known as West Paterson, was renamed Woodland Park in 2009 and was originally formed in May 2014.
To mark the centennial celebration picnic and festivities this weekend, we've partnered with Fairway Market to bring you 5 fun items you could bring to a picnic.
- 1
Blankets
A blanket is always something to have handy when attending a picnic. whether you're looking to lay down and catch some sun or you need an extra seat that night for the fireworks display, a blanket or two will prove very resourceful.
- 2
Sunglasses
When you're outside all day, give your eyes a rest. Make sure to bring your shade so you don't spend the day constantly squinting everywhere you go.
- 3
Chairs
When a blanket may not cut it for your back, bring a chair or two to take a load off.
- 4
Bug Spray
In case bugs decide to join the picnic as well, bug spray will prove to be extremely valuable. Having pray handy will keep you safe and avoid you from becoming part of the bugs' picnic.
- 5
Radio
As you're sitting around enjoying the picnic, having tunes playing on the radio in the background will provide the soundtrack to your fun afternoon.
