The Perceval family was selling their home in Australia. They had a buyer willing to pay $2,060,000. But the buyer wanted something more. Their cat. Tiffany the cat would perch herself on the sofa as the house was being shown, and when these particular buyers came through with their kid, the child fell in love with the cat. (I'm picturing Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka here.) So the negotiations began. They would only take the house if the cat were included. They ended up paying $140,000 extra just so their kid could take these other people's cat, and for that much money, the sellers had no issue with it. The seller's 19 year old son wasn't too happy about it, but I'm sure he'll get over it when the parents offered him a $20,000 cut.

Then I saw an associate poll question indicating 70% of people would never sell their pet for $140,000. Are Australians that crazy? I mean, who wouldn't? So I thought we'd ask you the same question and see if New Jersey attitudes are different. In the meantime, if you'd like to see what a $140,000 cat looks like, see the pic and full article here.
