Case closed: Nutley police charge lawn ornament thief

NUTLEY — Call it the case of the stolen lawn ornament. And furniture and religious statues.

Anthony Lewis, 19, of Nutley,  stole about 30 lawn ornaments, police told  abc7NY.com, and tried to sell them online.

The thefts had been going on since January and was the subject an ongoing investigation.

The police director said Lewis told them he was just trying to earn extra cash and was helping to recover some of the items.
