Twenty-four-year-old Donnald Lindsey was sentenced after apologizing to the family of his young victim, Brandon Thompson.

Lindsey's sentence was less severe than the one handed down earlier in the day to the man he was shooting at, Brandon's uncle, Martin Pierce.

Both were convicted of manslaughter, but Pierce's conviction was of a first-degree crime while Lindsey's was second-degree.

Pierce was sentenced to 42 years.
