NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Sammy’s Hope to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes.

Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Butch

Butch is a ridiculously cute orange and white cat who we think is about 5-years-old, or perhaps younger. When Butch came to the shelter, he had a terrible upper respiratory infection. But even though he felt awful, he was always sweet and loving. Now that Butch is feeling better, his personality is even more apparent. He loves to be petted, and winds in and out of the legs of our volunteers.  Butch would do best as an only cat in a quiet home.

If you are interested in meeting Butch or fostering/adopting him, please email us at cats@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the adoption application form here or you can see more adoptable cats from Sammy’s Hope here.

Adopt Thor

Thor is a friendly, happy American Staffordshire terrier mix who loves to lean on people and be in their laps. He was wandering for about five days before someone caught him. He has adjusted very well at the shelter after being a little distant, and is now happy to meet new people. Thor is stocky and powerful, so he needs to learn how to walk on a leash and do basic tricks.

If you're interested in learning more about Thor or to schedule a visit, email dogs@easelnj.org. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs, puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Cindy is a an English Bulldog and Beagle mix that is almost 2-years-old. She's a very sweet girl, full of energy and constantly wants attention. Cindy might need more attention then most other dogs. She's bouncy and playful, and she loves her bones and ball.

If you're interested in meeting Cindy or fostering/adopting her, please email us at info@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the application form here or you can see more adoptable dogs from Sammy’s Hope here.

Leo is a very loving and cuddly guy. He's very good with other cats and has become quite popular in the shelter with them since he's always looking after them. Leo is super friendly and personable, always greeting his friends and potential adopters.
