Burlington-Bristol Bridge closed all weekend

One more traffic issue to be aware of this weekend: The Burlington-Bristol Bridge will be closed until Monday.

The Delaware River bridge that links Burlington City with Bristol, Pennsylvania, is closed all weekend for a maintenance project until 6 a.m. Monday.

The Burlington County Bridge Commission Police said signage for the closure has been in place for several weeks. Spokeswoman Liz Varna told NJ Advance Media that the work is to make sure that new counterweights on the bridge are balanced so that the bridge lifts properly.

New Jersey Fast Traffic's Jill Myra said that the Tacony-Palmyra and Betsy Ross bridges are good alternatives around the closure. "Or, make it a free ride on the Route 95 bridge," she said.
