But Peter Stefan says he doesn't think Russia will take the body of Tamerlan Tsarnaev and is working on other arrangements, which include offers from out-of-state cemeteries.

Stefan said Monday he couldn't be more specific, yet. He added he was worried protests will rise up at any place that agrees to bury Tsarnaev, as they have at his own funeral home.

Stefan has said he plans to ask for a burial in the city of Cambridge, where Tsarnaev lived. Cambridge has urged him not to do so.

The founder of the organization that built Colorado’s largest mosque is offering to bury  Tsarnaev in a Denver-area Muslim cemetery.

Sheikh Abu-Omar Almubarac said Monday he will pay for a traditional Muslim burial — no headstone, monument or casket — at a plot at a Muslim cemetery in Denver or Bennett. Almubarac refused to say which one out of concern for “undue publicity.” The Colorado cleric said he’ll bury Tsarnaev as long as his family can get the body to Denver.

The family has expressed a wish for him to be buried in Massachusetts since he spent 10 years of his life there.

The Worcester, Massachusetts Police Department wants Stefan to pick up the cost of extra security while Tsarnaev's body is being kept in the central Massachusetts city.

"The cost of police details at this location is estimated to reach $30,000 by the end of today," said the Department in a press release on their website. "The police department believes that the cost of public safety should be incurred by the funeral home."
