Two Democratic officials told The Associated Press Buono has selected labor leader Milly Silva. The officials insisted on anonymity before Monday's official announcement in East Rutherford.

The 43-year-old Montclair resident is vice president of a private union that represents 7,000 health care and nursing home workers.

The all-female ticket is a first for New Jersey.

Buono and Silva are challenging Gov. Chris Christie and Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, who are seeking a second term.

Christie campaign spokesman Kevin Roberts says Buono chose someone who is wholly unqualified to be governor, which is the job's only requirement.
