BROOKLAWN — An argument between two men at the Westbrook Bowling Lanes turned physical and left one man requiring emergency surgery after being stabbed in the groin, police said.

The Brooklawn Police Department reported that Jorge H. Perez, 31, of Westville was identified by witnesses at the bowling alley as a suspect after a 26-year-old man was found injured. Witnesses told authorities the argument had started in the bar before the stabbing took place early Monday morning.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to Cooper Hospital, where he is listed as being in stable condition after surgery, police said.

Perez was charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and fourth-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He was taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
