Sixty-eight-year-old Albert Dressler of Brick also faces a weapons count in the indictment recently handed up by an Ocean County grand jury.

The charges stem from the July 24 death of Victor DiDonato, whose body was found inside his home in a Lakewood retirement community. Authorities say he suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen.

Dressler faces life in prison if convicted on the murder charge. He remains jailed on $750,000 bail.

Dressler was arrested about 20 minutes after DiDonato's body was found. Authorities have not said what may have prompted the stabbing.
