Mark J. Spatucci,23, of Waldwick is being held on $2 million bail in the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack. He was located by police in Midland Park brought in for questioning on Wednesday night. He was later charged with felony murder and endangering the welfare of a child and hindering apprehension.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office says Spatucci went to Greff's home on Tuesday night and entered the home on Mary Lane through a second floor window and began arguing with Greff. The argument grew violent, Spatucci choked Greff and left her for dead on her bed. An autopsy is still pending, but the cause of death is believed to be by asphyxiation.

Greff's parents were home but sleeping at the time according to the Prosecutor's Office. When Greff's parents did not hear from their daughter on Wednesday when they returned from errands her father went upstairs to Mary's bedroom and discovered her body around 10:50 a.m.

Spatucci, the father of their 10-month-old baby, did not harm the child who was left in a crib in the bedroom.  The Prosecutor's office says that Greff and Spatucci began dating about two years ago. They lived together for a short time after the birth of their child in February but Greff moved back to her parents home.

The family says Spatucci had court ordered custody visitation but Greff had full custody.

Spatucci will have a court hearing on Friday morning in Superior Court.

Greff majored in special education at Lydon State University in Vermont according to the Star Ledger, who reports that she had recently started work as a hostess at the Tilted Kilt Pub in Wayne which, according to its Facebook page, is scheduled to open this weekend.
