Boy shot by mom in murder-suicide dies from wounds
TABERNACLE, N.J. (AP) -- A southern New Jersey boy who was critically wounded when his mother shot and killed herself and his two siblings earlier this month has died from his injuries.
State police say 11-year-old Alexander Harriman died Wednesday afternoon at a hospital where he had been treated since the Nov. 20 shooting. NJSP tweeted the news of the child's death at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities have said 44-year-old Jeannine LePage committed the shootings at the family's home in Tabernacle, a town in the Pinelands that's 30 miles east of Philadelphia.
Police have not said what may have prompted LePage to shoot her children, saying it was a mystery that may never be solved. LePage died Nov. 23 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, three days after the shootings.
