Boil water order issued for parts of New Brunswick
NEW BRUNSWICK — A water main break has created traffic problems and resulted in a boil-water order for parts of the city.
New Brunswick Police spokesman Capt. J.T. Miller said that the boil water order was put into effect on Saturday morning for the Rutgers Village and Raritan Crossing neighborhood just off Route 18.
Rutgers University is not affected by the break.
The exits from Route 1 and Route 18 were also blocked. Ryder's Lane is the suggested detour for those going to High Point Solutions Stadium for today's Rutgers football game.
Miller said the the 20-inch main is being repaired in the area of the Route 1/Route 18 interchange.
