Boehner says an increase in the debt limit without deficit reduction, quote, "isn't going to cut it."

Congress faces two financial deadlines in the coming weeks. Funding for the government is set to run out at the end of September ,and the government will reach the limits of its borrowing authority a few weeks later.

Boehner told reporters Thursday the Republican-led House will pass a bill Friday to keep the government running while gutting funding for President Barack Obama's health care law.

The health care provisions are sure to die in the Democratic-controlled Senate, setting up a showdown that could lead to a partial government shutdown.
