Body That Washed Ashore in Edgewater Identified
Authorities say a body that washed ashore at a northern New Jersey construction site last weekend has been identified as a missing Bloomfield man.
A construction worker found the body of 21-year-old Nycal Velasquez around 7:20 a.m. Saturday at the River Road site in Edgewater.
A cause of death has not been determined, but authorities say they believe Velasquez likely committed suicide.
Relatives say Velasquez was last seen in late March, when he left his family's home. The vehicle he was driving was later found abandoned at the Fort Lee Historic Park located in Palisades Interstate Park.
