OCEAN CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a body found floating near a southern New Jersey bridge last week is that of a Philadelphia teenager who went missing while swimming with friends late last month.

Ocean City police tell The Press of Atlantic City that the body of 14-year-old Corinthian "Cory" Hammond has been taken into custody by his family, via a private funeral home. A boater discovered the body floating in the water south of the Ocean City-Longport Bridge early Thursday afternoon.

Authorities have said Hammond was swimming near the 9th Street Beach on June 29 with several other youths when he was pulled into deep water by a rip current. The other swimmers made it safely to shore.
