This year I've pledged to honor NJ's police officers that go above and beyond the call of duty, known as #BlueFriday.

This week, as we broadcast live from Atlantic City, we are honoring some special officers who are making sure local kids have recreational programs.

This week's #BlueFriday honorees are Atlantic City police officers Kevin Perez, Franco Synor and Justin Peyton. After program cuts would mean less staffing at recreational events, these three officers stepped up and offered to work security at four local schools for these programs where overtime security is not available.

It is actions like this by officers Perez, Peyton and Synor that make our New Jersey police officers so special. We thank all three of these Atlantic City officers for giving their time to make sure local kids have their recreational programs.

We were fortunate enough to have all 3 of our #BlueFriday nominees stop by our live broadcast at Resorts today. Not only did they stop by the broadcast to talk to us, but all 3 officers had just finished up their shifts at 2 a.m. and then came by our broadcast at 9:30 to talk to us about their efforts!

You can watch my interview with our #BlueFriday honorees, Atlantic City officers Franco Synor, Kevin Perez and Justin Peyton in the YouTube clip below.
