To celebrate the beginning of the 2014 baseball season, here's an amazing story of a boy who combined his good heart and his love for baseball to honor our U.S. soldiers.

12-year-old Washington Twp resident Billy Cook has started "Billy's Baseballs." The idea started out as a project to write letters to soldiers overseas. It has since morphed into sending notes on baseballs to soldiers.

According to ABC News, Billy has sent over 1,500 baseballs to soldiers fighting overseas. Billy's family purchased 100 baseballs and other baseballs have been purchased through donations.
