Parcells, who won 2 Super Bowls with the Giants, coached the New England Patriots to the big game, also coached the New York Jets to the AFC Championship game and the Dallas Cowboys to the playoffs, had conversations with the Saints and indicated to Payton in a recent conversation that he preferred to remain retired. This according to ESPN.

NFL Comissioner Roger Goodell on Monday upheld the suspensions of Payton, Assistant head coach linebackers Joe Vitt and General Manager Mickey Loomis who will have to serve an 8 game suspension.
