Big Upgrades to School Libraries [PHOTOS]
I visited the library at Oak Tree Elementary School in Monroe today. It's crazy how much has changed, technology-wise, since I was in elementary school.
Students were checking out books on their own, placing the items they want under a scanner, and waiting for system approval.
Each seat in the library had a netbook for assignments and research. There were also several rows of computers for the more-detailed assignments.
At one point, a girl was "publishing" a review of a book she had just returned. That review would be shared digitally through all the libraries in the district.
