Belmar Man Sentenced for YouTube Beating

A Belmar man was sentenced to three years in prison today after admitting he attacked a homeless man on two separate occasions and recorded the assaults.

The videos had been posted on YouTube and were discovered by a Belmar cop in December 2011. In both videos, 22-year-old Taylor Giresi is seen discussing his attack plans with an unseen cameraman and then carrying out the attack. The second video shows Giresi fleeing the scene after the victim cries out for help.

Giresi was arrested in Lake Como. The cameraman was identified as a juvenile; he spent more than 60 days in a state youth detention center following arrest.

Taylor Giresi pleaded guilty on January 4 of this year.
