Beach Boys Weekend On NJ101.5

One of our favorite artists that come out to play on the weekends on New Jersey 101.5 is The Beach Boys! They are celebrating 50 years together and their music has been enjoyed by 3 generations.  This weekend  New Jersey 101.5 is featuring Jersey's Favorite Beach Boys hits and giving away their new album!

The "Boys" are currently on their Summer of 2012 Anniversary Tour in their home state of California. They

visited our area a few weeks ago with sold out shows at New York's Beacon Theater and at the Borgata.  The Beach Boys return to New Jersey on June 16th at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden County and the PNC Bank Arts Center in Monmouth County on June 27th.

New Jersey 101.5 has been featuring their new single "That's Why God Made The Radio".  This is the title track of their new album that will be released this Tuesday June 5th.  What makes this album so special is that Brian Wilson has rejoined the band for their first studio album in 20 years. Brian is joined by Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks.

"Radio was my whole education," says Brian Wilson. "Chuck Berry, Rosemary Clooney, The Four Freshmen, Phil Spector, Little Richard... To hear 'That's Why God Made The Radio' on the radio would be a thrill beyond belief, it really would. It would be a thrill beyond belief."

"I got a lot of my appreciation for all of the creativity in the world, in terms of music, through the radio," Mike Love mentions. "For all of us who grew up in the '50s, '60s, '70s and beyond, the radio has played such a huge, important part in our lives. When we were kids, we'd sneak out of the house and go and sit in Brian's car and listen to the local radio stations on his car radio."
