State Police spokesman Trooper Alejandro Goez said a Ford Explorer, driven by Daniel Forrest, 35, went off the southbound side and into the wooded median near Exit 69 around 10:20 p.m.

A passenger in the car, Kelly Jarossy, 37, of Beachwood, was flown to AtlaniCare Medical Center in Atlantic City for treatment of serious injuries.

According to Forrest's Facebook page he worked for the US Postal Service, and was a vice president of the American Postal Workers Union. A post offering condolences said he was a member of the Central Regional High School class of 2000.

The incident remains under investigation. It's not clear if the weather played a role in the crash, according to Goez.
