Do you know that approximately 90 million Americans suffer from dizziness and falls are the number one cause of accidental death and hospital admission for people over age 65?  Many falls occur because people have a balance disorder, but most that have a problem with balance are completely unaware of it.  We've partnered up with Raritan Bay Medical Center with some beneficial reasons as to why testing and treatment could be helpful for those experiencing dizziness.

It is estimated that about half the U.S. population is affected by balance or a vestibular disorder at some point in their lives. Balance testing and treatment can be beneficial for those with the following symptoms:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Difficulty getting up from a chair or out of bed
  • Numbness or loss of sensation in the legs
  • Trouble walking up or down inclined surfaces
  • Loss of balance when standing still, when walking or both
  • Needing to lean on something when walking
  • Feeling unsteady

Diagnosis and treatment can help anyone with dizziness, vertigo, difficulty judging distance, people with an increased risk of falling and anyone who has fallen once in the past year.
