Lower Bail Denied in Wife-Murder Case
A judge has refused to lower the bail for a northern New Jersey man charged with setting up the 2011 murder of his wife.
Kashif Parvaiz was in court Friday in Morristown seeking to have his bail lowered from $3 million cash to $1 million cash or bond.
Parvaiz is charged with scheming with a Massachusetts woman to kill his wife and make it look like a random attack. The shooting that occurred while he and his wife were walking with one of their young sons in Boonton.
The Daily Record of Parsippany reports a state Superior Court judge rejected the motion to lower the bail and said Parvaiz would be a flight risk.
Parvaiz's alleged accomplice, Antoinette Stephen, pleaded guilty in May to murder and other offenses.
