Baby Tossed from Jersey City Window Dies

Jersey City police say a 3-month-old boy who was seriously injured when his mother's ex-boyfriend allegedly pushed them out a window last weekend has died.

Authorities say 19-year-old Frederico Bruno will now likely face upgraded charges following the child's death early Tuesday afternoon. Bruno already faces 17 counts, including attempted murder and child abuse.

The child's mother remained hospitalized Tuesday in a medically induced coma and was in stable but critical condition.

Authorities have said Bruno let himself into the woman's Jersey City apartment and attacked her and another woman when they got home early Friday, authorities said. He repeatedly stabbed both women and then pushed his ex-girlfriend into an air conditioner, causing her and her 3-month-old child to go through a window and fall three stories.
