I’ve often said I don’t feel like a true New Jerseyan since I’ve yet to see a bear. I most definitely have never seen a bear with its head caught in a cookie jar. Well, okay, animal cracker jar to be precise.

A six month old bear cub was going through a Ringwood resident’s trash when it came upon an oversized plastic jar with a few remaining animal crackers in the bottom. He wanted those. A few minutes later, his head stuck inside the jar, he panicked and ran up a tree. Then he got stuck in that tree. Some helpful folks later and he’s all good.

See the whole story with pictures of the poor bear in the middle of his predicament here.
