CLEMENTON, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a 3-year-old girl found wandering by herself at a southern New Jersey amusement park was accidentally left there due to a misunderstanding among her family members.

Camden County prosecutors say no criminal charges will be filed in the matter.

Authorities say the girl was among a large group of adults and children who had gone to Clementon Park on Saturday. She approached a park security guard around 8:30 p.m. and said she couldn't find her parents.

After staffers tried unsuccessfully to find the parents at the park, they called police.

The child's parents contacted authorities Sunday morning and indicated that they thought she was staying at her grandmother's home. But the grandmother told detectives that she thought the girl had left the park with others in the group.
