Union County Prosecutor Grace Park said Friday that Angel Serpa Rodriguez was free on $85,000 bond during his five-day trial in Elizabeth.

A jury convicted Rodriguez on Wednesday, but the 35-year-old Fort Lee resident wasn't around to hear the verdict.

Park says Rodriguez was seen in Elizabeth Wednesday and is believed to have traveled to West New York before heading south.

Prosecutors say Rodriguez used a jagged piece of glass to slash a man in the face outside a bar in Elizabeth in 2011. He was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

Union County Crimestoppers is offering a reward of $5,000 to anyone who provides information leading to Rodriguez's arrest.
