Authorities say off-duty trooper fires at car with teens inside
SPARTA (AP) — The state Attorney General's Office says an off-duty New Jersey state trooper fired at an occupied vehicle over the weekend.
Spokesman Peter Aseltine said Tuesday the state Attorney General's Office is investigating Sunday's shooting in Sparta.
Aseltine tells the New Jersey Herald two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old were inside the vehicle. But no one was hit by the gunfire.
It's unclear how many shots were fired or what led up to the shooting.
Aseltine didn't identify the trooper. No criminal charges have been filed against him.
