Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk and Camden County police Chief Scott Thomson reported Wednesday that five people had overdosed on heroin during a 24-hour period between Monday and Tuesday. All five survived and said they bought the drug in Camden.

Authorities declined to identify the area where the drugs were sold, saying they wanted to discourage people who might be looking for a more potent high.

Law enforcement officials are working to determine the source of the heroin.
