LAKEWOOD, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a man who fatally shot himself at a gun range this week was a state corrections officer.

State officials tell NJ.com that the 32-year-old Woodbridge man was hired in June 2007 and worked at the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton. His name has not been released.

Few details have been released about the shooting, which occurred around 2:50 p.m. Monday at the Shore Shot Pistol Range in Lakewood. Authorities have said the shot was self-inflicted, but the investigation is ongoing.
