School officials say 18-year-old Christopher Geary, a Pompton Lakes resident who attends the County College of Morris, was also charged Wednesday with causing false public alarm.

The alleged threat was posted on social media, but did not specify where the attack was to take place.

School officials said there was no imminent threat on campus and all classes and activities continued as scheduled. But students in the North Haledon school district were kept indoors during the day as a precaution.

Officials have not said what may have prompted the alleged threat.

A telephone number for Geary could not be located Tuesday night.
