Aberdeen police tell the Asbury Park Press that 22-year-old Akira Lukwago-Jones of Keyport entered the 18-year-old woman's home early Sunday and forced her outside. He then allegedly drove her around and beat her before she escaped him in Keyport.

A short time later, authorities saw Lukwago-Jones driving in Aberdeen. He allegedly tried to elude police, but soon pulled into an apartment complex and tried to flee on foot.

Besides kidnapping, he faces numerous other charges including eluding and aggravated assault on a police officer. His bail was set at $225,000 cash, and it was not known Monday if he's retained an attorney.
