As they try to combat stories about Gov. Chris Christie having a hard time raising money for his possible presidential run, supporters are announcing a list of big donors and new operatives hired for his exploratory PAC.
In this week's video edition of Political Bytes, Reporter David Matthau and I discuss Gov. Christie and his recent discussions on pension reform with the NJEA. We also talk about the governor's low approval rating, his travels overseas and return to town hall meetings and the state budget.
In the February edition of 'Ask the Governor,' Chris Christie elaborated on his declaration - in Tuesday's budget address - that he and the New Jersey Education Association are closer to agreement on a pension reform “roadmap.” He also spoke to an eighth grade girl who voiced her concern about the PARCC test, telling her it's an important step to better evaluating student and teacher progress. And he defended his recent comments on vaccinations, calling himself a "supporter" of mandatory immunizations.
Gov. Chris Christie is back in New Jersey after traveling to Washington D.C., Chicago and Virginia in recent weeks to put the finishing touches on his state budget. He's scheduled to deliver his sixth budget address at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Trenton.
